Icons in IE6 Favorites

The icons for sites in my Favorites list have all gone and only the standard IE is there.

I've tried resetting them in the properties, but no luck.

Anybody else had this problem and found a fix?

 

cache/history clearing?

 

Are you asking have I, or is it? or are suggesting I do it? How do I clear the cache?

No I hadn't? Can't understand it myself

 

Could be a glitch, a number of things. Someone else will have to figure this out.

 

Internet Explorer has been doing this for as long as I can remember.

I've read somewhere that it is a bug, although I can't say that with any certainty, however if you visit the site and it "applies" an icon it won't be retained for long, at least on my system.

Anyway, I use AM Deadlink, available from HERE. (Freeware)

It will also find any dead links as well as apply icons and is a very handy program.

 

My IE website icons disappear occasionally... not sure why... when I revisit those websites with web page icons, sometimes I can restore them. I think my registry cleaner deletes them...

 

I think what you can do is clear your cache and then revisit the site. You can clear yoru cache by clicking Tools, internet options, and then clicking dlete files (make sure "dlete offline files" is checked), and then delete the files. This will clear the cache and you can just revisit the sites and it should download it again. I think this works for me sometimes. But I dont use Internet Explorer, I use something different.
