IE 10 upgrade cannot install Windows Updates

The Stand alone windows Update Installer will not complete even after hours of letting it cook.

Any ideas?:confused

 

I don't understand what you are try to do. You are using IE10 to run Windows Update / Microsoft Update?

IE10 only runs on Windows 7 & 8; Windows Update on 7/8 is performed via Control Panel only.

If I misunderstood your issue, please clarify.

 

I wanted to update to IE 10 on Win 7. IE asks for updates (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2818833) and the updates then stall out. WU from Control Panel gives an error as well. :confused

 

Post the error, please.

 

There was a fixit solution and that did not show any errors. It will not connect to the Win Updater.
