IE not viewing properly

I am having an annoying problem with my IE.
When surfing on a site that opens a new window automatically to view the next page, the window always comes open in a small reduced window, and I need to enlarge it to view the contents. How do I get my IE to open full screen on second windows. It opens full screen on the first window open every time yet secondary windows do not. I have looked everywhere for a setting and find nothing. Very frustrating little problem. It only started to do this today and I cannot figure out why.
Can anyone give me a tip on this one??
I am running Win 2000

Go back to the first IE window you opened and close it.
Return to the second window and manually drag it to fill the screen.
(Do not use the maximize button)
Close this second window, using the close box.
All IE5 windows should now open maximized. "

even though it says ie5 it works on ie6

It appears to be working fine now. Cannot figure why it suddenly started to act this way but it is back to normal. Funny how stuff like this can really bug you and make your browsing difficult.

I'm havin the same problem using a newly installed IE7, however I don't see any option for "open in a new window"? How to fix in IE7?
