IE pages don't load but messenger works

I initially had a malware problem which was solved. Now I cannot browse any webpages using any browser (IE,Apple safari,firefox). However, my instant messengers like g-talk and msn work fine. A detailed communication of the problem can be found in my earlier thread as mentioned above. Below is also a quote of my last posting for your reference. Kindly assist to resolve this issue. I was having a similar problem as you describe. After trying lots of different things, I finally stumbled on checking my Zone Alarm. I have Zone Alarm installed, but it wasn't in my tray at all (like it usually is). I think somehow, it got corrupted and was blocking my IE and other apps, but not Messenger. Uninstalling ZoneAlarm now allows my IE to connect to the internet. Check to see if Zonealarm (or any other firewall) is blocking your internet traffic, either because it's configured incorrectly, or because it's having a conflict of it's own and isn't working properly.
