I have a computer running Windows XP Pro with an AMD Athlon XP 2200+. Recently, when I log on to my computer, my internet explorer is very slow to open my home page...usually times out. I'll have to restart the computer, which opens in Administrator Account for some reason. I log off of that and back into my account, and everything works fine. Any ideas?

Anyone have any thoughts as to what could be causing this? It just started like a week ago, and is really annoying to have to restart the computer just to go on the internet! Also, is there anyway to keep the computer from automatically going into the Administrator Account when restarting? I'm worried that my kids are going to go in there and end up screwing something up! Please help....I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but then I have no idea what is wrong with it. It's just slow like there is malware, so I posted in here! Thanks in advance for any help offered, or if you could point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated! Thanks again!

Does your Admin account have a password? If not, make sure you assign one. To fix your problem where you are directly connected to the Admin account, use the below steps.

    1. Click Start, Settings, and Control Panel.
    2. Open User Accounts.
    3. Click "Change the way users log on or off".
    4. check the "Use the Welcome screen" option
    5. Click "Apply Options"
Now reboot. Is your loging process back to normal now?
