IE won't work, Firefox is fine...

Older computer, XP Home, SP3, wireless G connection in a small home, FIOS. I was running IE7 (just updated to IE8, IE7 stopped working earlier this month, thought the update might help, didn't) and Mozilla 3.011 (works fine, I just like to run two different browsers).

Here is the diagnostic message I get from the internal XP network diagnostics wizard:

Anyway, like I stated, Mozilla works fine. BTW, what's up with IE requiring an FTP connection?

Thanks for the reply, and suggestion, but that's not it. I've already been there. I'm typing now with mozilla;-)

Any more ideas from anyone? A virus/worm/spyware, etc. I'm at a loss, this is not normal...
