Brother's family visited mother over the 4th of July, and one of their children downloaded a program onto the PC (can't recall the name of the program (it began with an I)). It was one of those browser based teen programs. OS is Windows 7 Professional, and browser is IE10.

After attempting to access GMail, connection now times out. Initially there were also pop ups and redirects which seem to have vanished after I ran a System Restore. All other internet sites seem to work fine except Facebook. When opening Facebook get a message that "Revocation information for the security certificate of this site is not available. Do you want to proceed?" That wasn't happening before.

Also, there is a serious lag before pages can be scrolled or before anything can be added to a text box. It's a 5 to 10 second wait before login is available on any site. With Major Geeks pages, there is about a 5 second delay before scrolling is available. I know this was not present before as I used the PC before they downloaded the program(s), and the pages were quick to load and all features were available instantly. Before coming here I ran System Restore as I mentioned, and the program(s?) was removed. I think what's left is the lingering after affects of some sort of malware in the registry and some messed up Windows settings.

    Symptoms-
    Redirects and pop ups
Internet page load lag (scroll and text boxes unavailable for 5-10 seconds)
    Facebook message
    Unable to access GMail
May be other problems since the programs were just installed yesterday or the day before yesterday

One other small problem. When attempting to run TDSSKiller, got two TDS error messages-1. Can't initialize log and 2. Can't load driver. Scan ran normally and found nothing.

    RogueKiller-5 threats
    Malwarebytes-2 threats (removed as instructed)
    TDSSKiller-No threats (No log)
    Hitman Pro-No threats

Logs attached. Thanks for any help...

The only thing I see that is suspicious is this:
    C:\Users\Living Room\AppData\Roaming\igdhbblpcellaljokkpfhcjlagemhgjl

Use windows explorer to delete it.

You may need to post in the software forum for additional assistance as I am not finding any malware in your logs.

OK thanks for looking at the logs. I removed C:\Users\Living Room\AppData\Roaming\igdhbblpcellaljokkpfhcjlagemhgjl as you suggested and rebooted, but the problems are still there.

Am I safe to delete the items roguekiller found? I followed the instructions and did not remove them the first time around...

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. You can uninstall RogueKiller and HitManPro.
    2. Go back to step 4 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link

Malware removal from a National Chain = $149
Malware removal from MajorGeeks = $0
