IE7 and ActiveX Component

I am trying to install an ActiveX component into IE7. I get the warning banner at the top of the browser window when the component starts to download, and then I click on allow install, but a dialog box tells me the publisher is not recognised and the install fails.

I have set the site in 'trusted' and set the permissions to 'allow', but still no joy. The server is also on the same private lan. I have read elsewhere about ActiveX issues with IE7. OS is XP Home SP2.

Anyone know a workaround for this ?

    Cheers
