IE7 hide & seek Favorites. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!

First off, no I did not back up my favorites before upgrading. I'm kicking myself for it now.

Anyway, this morning, as I was perusing my usual haunts, I noticed my favorites had disappeared. No, IE7 didn't crash. I did have some problems elsewhere, but IE7 was fine. It was literally there then gone!

Now for the interesting part. As I am doing my best to find at least the sites I frequent a lot and organizing them, I cannot name the folders the same as before. I'm getting a message that the folder already exists!

So, if the favorites are just hidden, what in the world did I do to hide them and how do I get them back! I tried rolling the computer back (twice), but nothing. All scans show up nothing either.

So, after doing some digging I've found it's a known problem. Great. Still no info on getting Favorites back. I've rolled all the way back to IE6 in hopes they will find their way home. :sheep:

I dread having to relocate a lot of my favorite websites. I know they're on my computer somewhere, but where? And how do I find them?

Should've know better.
