I'm stuck.....part way thru READ ME 1st

I'm to the part where you reveal all the file extensions. I did that but I don't know how to see all the files. How do I get to them? I've very new at this ....

I've done everything else and my computer is running so much better but my favorites on line are still acting strange/not as before I was infiltrated. Is there a way I can delete the files set up by AOL? I close them and they open. I put them way down on the list and they pop open and put themselves to the top. If I have a recent addition, it often gets deleted when AOL majic files start to open and relocate. That's why I think I may still have some remote/hidden stuff still around.

When I do the defrag. I still have 3 fragmented files that will not clean. Is there a reason for this?

Just procede on and note any further errors/problems you have.

When you "reveal" all file extensions, for example, this just means instead of seeing a file called "notepad", you will see it as "notepad.exe". You can view the extenstion of a file when this option is enabled however by default it's disabled.

 

Yes, and thank you they are all revealed now as I can see them in my documents.

How do I look through all the files to see if there is any hidden malware/spyware remnants/tails still lurking deep inside my computer.

Unless you know what you're looking for it's hard to pick them out. For me to assist you in removing them I need the logs requested from the READ ME.

As a reference, I will post our initial instructions.
