I have a small homenetwork. 2 laptops and one desktop. All linked together via a Zyxel Prestige router. All with cables.I am using winxp pro sp2.
It had been working very well for sometime. A week ago I could not get an entry to my Desktop from either notebook. In the workgroup I can see all pc's . But clicking on the desktop icoon in eithet notebook I get an error message (something like Desktop not accessable.........acces denied)
In my desktop, however, I can get acces to all the notebooks and shared maps/files. With pinging it is the same.
I have recently installed a new security suite (Gdata 2007). So after checking that thouroughly and not finding any wrong settings , switching off the firewall the whole security did not help.I decided to uninstall that suite. But even than the same problem occurred. Also exciting the windows firewall , so working with no firewalls, did not help.
    Below some ipconfig results.
    Who can help me, please?

    Thanks,
Below is a copy of a line from Local security settings via administrative tools. To me it looks that your solution is allready applied to in my desktop. Correct me if I am wrong.

Network access: Sharing and security model for local accounts Guest only - local users authenticate as Guest

Well at least that is correct.
I was thinking that your security suite has written a new security policy either in the management console or the registry. Often uninstallation does not remove all traces of a program.
If it is in the registry it will be hard to find look for references to Gdata.

Befor you do this try this other thing

Make a new network using the XP network setup wizard, making a floppy and running it on each pc.

    Ok thanks,
I will try your suggestions. But at the moment I have not enough time for all this but soon I will give it a try.
I will come back to this.
