    Our problem started about three weeks ago. Previously we had been downloading music from unknown/unsecured sites, but our daughter also used the computer and tends to click on everything. We installed McAfee and thought we had fixed the problem. Finding and removing viruses like Antivirus Pro 2009 and Zido Pop Unders. The computer ran well for a week or so and then went haywire. The CPU was constantly running at 100%, switching the percentage up between ActSage.exe, ActOUtlookServices.exe and hpqthb08.exe. When we would end one process the CPU would stay at 100% switching back and forth between the other two processes that weren't terminated. I could not access the internet our any programs without terminating those three processes. Before running the READ ME, I tried unistalling act first by the Add/Remove Programs and then tried manually and only partially removed parts of the program. I'm sure this was a mistake and did not help anything.

    Now I have ran the READ ME and there is no more problem with the CPU, it is running between 0% and 4% and I'm am able to access the programs and the internet. However, when I resart the system, I get the error message: C:WINDOWS/itinojagiqetetab.dll

    Can you please check my log files and see what is still lingering out there? I want to be sure the viruses are gone before I continue to Step 4 and do a Toggle System Restore. I will post my MGlogs.zip log to the next post.

    Thank you,
    Jessica

    Thank you. Sorry, I didn't know to do that. I wanted to let you know that zedo pop unders are still appearing on the computer too. It runs much better since doing the READ ME, but when the zedos appear it gets really slow. Thank you for all of your help.

    Let's have you do this:

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
    to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    File::
    C:\WINDOWS\itinojagiqetetab.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\Mnugusasiyuwam.dat
    C:\WINDOWS\Jhozisuwaq.bin

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    If it asks you to overide the prvevious file with the same name, click YES.
    * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    [IMG]
    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\ComboFix.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    Thanks again for your help. Sorry for the delay in responding. The Holidays have made things hectic around here lately. I have attached the logs you have requested below. As of now, the computer is running much better. However, we are still getting persistant occurances of ZEDO pop-up/popunders. that will cause IE 8 to slow to a crawl and often crash completely. This is confirmed by the IE status at the bottom of the page stating " waiting for " www.ZEDO" and such variations. Any help you could offer at removing this pesky little nuisance is again greatly appreciated.
