but when it tryed to boot back up i was met with a series of beep's, it sounded like a childs game or something,
    after 3-4mins it finaly started,
and once again as soon as everything had loaded in it restarted it's self

the thing wont evan stay on long enough for me to accsess, any programs whatsoever,

Can you start in safe mode?

How to boot in safe mode: To boot into safe mode, restart your computer and tap the f8 key (after first black and white screen, but before the Windows splash screen) until you get to a black and white screen asking you what to do. With Windows XP, 2000, NT, ME: Use your arrow keys and select "safe mode with networking support". If you have problem booting in safe mode, try look at the steps in the below link which provides info for all Windows versions.

It may be something to do with a virus on your computer. If you can boot in safe mode with networking support do all the steps in this link.

If your stll having problems post in the spyware forum, those guys know everything!

What kind of pattern were those beeps? What brand of machine is this? IF home built, then what brand of motherboard?

    Now, follow MuttD's suggestion.

Ignore all this if you already went into the spyware section of this forum.

hi again, the series of beep were high and low tone's, insted of the single beep i normally get, i have tryed to start up in safe mode but with no luck, im just met with a screen of white writing, and it goes no further,
my motherboard, is a RAID BE6-II, RUNNING A P3, AND WITH 512MEG OF RAM, WITH 120 SATA HDD,

i have tryed to "repair" with my bootable XP disc but it had no efect,

the p.c was only runing at 400E mhz at the beginning of the year and i clocked it up to 600, do you think this may have caused the processor to overheat?if so why has it taken so long, and what should 'normal' tempreture be, i managed to get in to the bios and have a look at the temp, and it was at 27/28c, is that too hot?

The series of beeps may help you indentify the problem.

We need to know what that series is, whether it's 1 long and two short or whatever?

And overclocking a processor from 400 to 600 isn't a good idea, and Yes 28 c is fine.
