install 05 symantec on win ME

I updated my symantec online and can not get it to install I have tried to remove everything but think some stuff might be hidden , I have a Dell that came with norton , I have followd all the directions that was available to me .this is the message I get when trying to install . " Setup has detected that a previous install or uninstall compleated but requires a restart ..."

I was told to try and go into the registr and remove certain file but they are not there .

 

Follow the instructions in this article Removing your Norton program using SymNRT, after Norton has been completely remove you should be able to install 05.
