Install 2003 Office?

After I enter the product key it gives me an error message that says the installation source has been corrupted. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem and install office?

It says, Microsoft office setup cannot continue because the installation source has been corrupted.

The reason I asked for the exact error is this. I copied and pasted your error into google. (not trying to be an ***, just sometimes the answers to problems come quicker that way)

Thanks. The problem is I have explorer 7 and service pack 2. Any other suggestions?

Check the Cd for damage, blemishes, smudges, etc.

Hi

I would try sections of the advice Adryn gave you in his link to Microsoft as the likes of MSXML and Reregister the Msxml3.dll file, and also the workaround to the setup file command at the bottom on the link, possibly fixing IE7 could be a last resort.

also options on install issues are if you have antivirus, unhook from the internet and disable your antivirus application as some can interfear with install, especially if they have office plugins.

a workaround to this as well is to Clean Boot your PC, this then stops all non system applications from starting and can help install the application:

Use a clean boot to restart your computer, and then see if the issue persists. A clean boot is a method to create a clean environment. When you start your computer with a clean boot, Microsoft Windows starts and loads only the basic devices and services.

To restart your computer with a clean boot, follow the steps that are appropriate to your operating system.
Windows XP
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. Type msconfig in the Open box, and then click OK.
3. Click the General tab, and then click Selective Startup.
4. Under Selective Startup, click to clear the following check boxes :
Process System.ini file
Process Win.ini file
Load Startup Items
5. Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.
6. Click OK, and then click Restart to restart the computer.

NOTE: To restore the computer to use a normal startup, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services on the General tab in the System Configuration Utility, click OK, and then click Restart to restart the computer.
