The normal procedure is insanely long and complex.
-put hdd drivers on a floppy (or mobo chipset drivers, etc.) Drivers could be too big for floppy, floppy could be old, diskettes could be corrupt or show RAW instead of FAT etc. so...
-install .net framework 1.1 (so that nLite will install)
    -install nLite
-combine driver and XP o/s in nLite and burn
    -install XP o/s
-press F6 to load drivers from floppy or cd/dvd
    -pray.

I have just tried a bios trick, please let me know if you see any problems with it.
It DID work, though. XP is running on SATA drive which BIOS thinks is IDE.

I changed the SATA params in BIOS to IDE from ?ACHI?. Then I installed XP o/s. Seems to work fine.
Now, can I just drop the proper drivers for SATA drive or mobo chipset into the windows system folder (wbsetup) and reboot going to BIOS first to change the SATA option back to ACHI? This should allow XP to see my SATA drive, should it not?

    advTHANKSance for any input.

So does anyone see a problem with this set up, long-term?
