Installed XP Pro now display is set to 4 bits and can't change

    Installed XP pro service pack 2.Display set 4bits and I get a washed out color. Tried changing it even went to advanced but still no help everything is grayed out. It does say unknown monitor
    P4 1.80 ghz
    640 mem
    20 gig HDD
    Wave monitor
    Gateway E 4000 computer

    You should probably go to the gateway website and download their video drivers. Check device manager for any issues with the video card.
