Alright, a friend of mine just recently bought a 250gb WD SATA hard drive. As his primary, he has a normal IDE hard drive. For some reason, when he hooks up the SATA drive, it is not being recognized by his computer... Like, nothing at all...
If he hooks it up alone, the computer still will not recognize the drive. If he hooks it up along side his IDE primary, it's not recognized.

I hooked up the same hard drive on my computer, and it seems as if my computer detects it, but I can't seem to be able to access it or anything (like make a partition, put files onto it etc... it wont appear in my computer, but it appears in my bios, as well as my hardware manager). (Also note that I have the EXACT same hard drive as my primary, same model # and everything)

How can we get this to work on his computer?
