Can anyone explain, in laymen's terms what intel is referring to on the stepping code on the cpu's.

    Example:

    SL6RZ 2.4 Ghz Stepping C1
    SL6PC 2.4 Ghz Stepping D1
    SL67Z 2.4 Ghz Stepping B0

All these are 512 Cache, 533 FSB and 0.13 micron

I am trying to get a faster cpu for a 478 socket board and can't understand if the stepping makes any difference in the speed of the processing actions.

    In advance thank you
