internet explorer error wont download!!

Tried to down load music downloads tried downloading anti virus when I click on it nothing happens, when I click again I get a message
"internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close this window"
does anyone know whats going on and does anyone know what "about:blank" is ?

If problem just started
I'm guessing, but you may have some sort of virus or bug.

Try going to control pannel/Internet options/General tab then reset your home page, while your there on other tabs reset defaults, then see if that helps.
If you cant set your home page or it wont stay to what you want, probably got some bugs.

About Blank = in the above Internet options general tab if you set your home page to About blank ya just get blank page (no home page set) but you can still use the web ya just have blank homepage.

Last question can you get online elsewhere? try windows update?

 

about:blank can be a hijacker ( bug ), is that what you mean? If so,you can try About:Buster here http://majorgeeks.com/download4289.html

It is When all else fails - Generic Solution to HSA (Only the Best) & About:Blank hijack. Be sure to follow the instructions, sometimes it is hard to get rid of.

if it still doesn't work after hijack this a virus/spyware scan try reinstalling or repairing IE from add/remove programs
