OK! I have downloaded all of the suggested scans. I've ran them all. Ad-aware
has found 6 files, all tracking cookies. Deleted those, still popping up. Spybot found 1 called DSO Entries. Deleted that. CCShredder was able to find a CWS entry. However, the log file on that is questionable, it looks funny. CCleaner was unable to install, so I manually deleted temp files only, other files, I don't know? Also your Stinger,Spyblaster. I've done what you've requested, Now what?
    Thank You
    Patience is the Virtue

Please download and install Spybot - Search and Destroy DSO Exploit Fix 1.3.1 TX to fix a bug in SpyBot that will keep showing DSO Exploit problems.

What do you mean "CCleaner was unable to install"? What error message did you get?

You should read the tutorial in this Sticky thread NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

Now post a HijackThis as a .txt file attachment to your message. All running programs should be closed, including your web browser, e-mail. Close before running Hijack This!

Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder, for example C:\Program Files\HJT

After you get your system clean you will not need much patience if you wise up and ditch I.E. Switch to Opera or even better, switch to Mozilla Firefox. Being that I.E. is the most used browser that is what most bugs are designed to infiltrate. Keep using I.E. and this will not be the last time you have these problems. With a few extensions added to Mozilla and the correct settings you will be far safer than you are now with I.E. And unlike Opera, the buttons on Mozilla Firefox appear and work so much like I.E. it is easy to get used to for former I.E. users. But if you switch to Mozilla Firefox try to find version 0.9.3. The 1.0 version is great but not all of the neccessary extensions work yet with 1.0. You can also p.m. me if you want help with the settings.

    Alright guys,
Here is the Hjt log. Just want you to know that I did go back and restore the ignore list, so that you could see all of it, didn't know if it would only show the one that came up..So I did previously use the fix. To no avail. I'm going to do the spybot download now. What I meant when I said CCleaner wouldn't install, is just that. It went through all of the steps and on the last one where it says finish, you can see for just a second the installation bars, about 4 of them, and then POOF! If I double click on it again, it starts the install all over again, to no avail. Am interested in something other than IE though, but I guess that's another forum. :)

I am not sure if posting links to freeware download sites are allowed. But as I mentioned above if you want to try mozilla firefox you should install version 0.9.3. 1.0 is a great browser but the necessary addon extensions do not all work with this version yet. Change your settings here to allow private messages and p.m. me and I can send you the links where you can get version 0.9.3. I can also tell you which extensions to add and once installed how to adjust your settings for optimal security. By no stretch of the imagination am I a security expert but I have friends that are damn good. They helped me with these settings and if you like I can do the same for you.

If everyone would learn to read the sticky threads, you would see we recommend using FIreFox all the time. You do not need to go to other freeware sites. It's here on MG's. Please read (for one example): How to Protect yourself from malware!
The link to FireFox is in there too.

It is also in the READ ME FIRST thread everyone is supposed to have read!!!!!

You need to go back to the READ ME FIRST thread where we posted the link to HijackThis and download it from Majorgeeks.

I don't understand why everyone cannot follow the directions in the sticky threads. Click on all the links provided to make sure you have what we recommend. The proper version is 1.98.2. Where ever you are downloading from to get version 1.97.7, you should stop going to since they obviously are not current with there download versions.

Please post a new log using the correct version.

You also never completed the READ ME FIRST thread. I see no signs of the online scan with TrendMicro being run.

By the way are you still getting popups?

Yes, mozilla firefox version 1.0 is already here. But as I mentioned, not all of the current extensions needed for greater security work with 1.0. But they do work with version 0.9.3. Until all the new extensions are released it is best to use version 0.9.3. The version posted here is 1.0, not 0.9.3.

I agree with you. Mozilla Firefox is an excellent browser. Probably the safest one out there. And overall v1.0 is an excellent browser. But until all the flaws in 1.0 are updated and plugged like they were with 0.9.3 I would recommend 0.9.3. Using an excellent version like 0.9.3 until the improved version 1.0 is fully updated is not a bad situation to be in. At the mozilla update site extensions like Adblock, DownTheAll and Allow Right Click are not yet available for 1.0. Security is the most important this and these addons plus the right settings are needed to keep things from being uploaded onto your computer without your knowledge.

Well contrary to your belief, I did run TrendMicro, and they found nothing. I only restored the ignore list so that you could see what I had already done, because I did use the fix to the best of my ability. My bust on the version though. I have attached the log file with the right version. Thanks for everything I have no popups, messages etc. TERRIFIC
Just downloaded sunjava and got rid of microsoft vm. Heading to Mozilla....
