Is it possible to make my router go faster?

I still young so my parents pay for the internet i never knew what exactly they had except that it was roadrunner but after looking at my DL speed i think i figured out is RR lite

My DL speed stays constantly at 1.45 Mpbs on every download test it will not go any higher but sometimes lower

Anyways i was wondering is their any way i can override my modem or whatever limits my speed to make my internet speed go any faster?

 

Speed isnt limited on your end. Your ISP limits your speed.

I used tcpoptimizer or something like that, will check the program while at home.

End result is creating a more efficient data transmittance from your end, negotiations will accept and acknowledge your settings resulting in no lost data.

 

the isp limits the amount of bandwith that comes into your home the only way of making it go faster is to pay for more bandwith its not the router (check the bandwith limit on it to be sure sometimes the maximum rate of bandwith that the router can handle is the problem my old one only allowed 51.5Mbps and the internet was coming in slow, replaced it with another router that gave bandwith at 300Mbps its quicker now)
