My computer has been acting strange when I attempt to start it up. It will turn on for about 3 seconds then completely shut down. After I unplugged the dvd drive it started up fine. Then the next time I tried to start it up it did the same thing, and unplugging one of the fans seemed to work this time. Once it's on it runs fine. So I'm wondering if my power source is pooched?

could be. Could also be RAM or HD or motherboard. Little dificult to say. Use memtest86 to test your RAM and try and find the Disk Diagnostic for your HD manufacturer. If these both pass try swapping out PSU then motherboard. Could also be a shorting fault with something on the motherboard shorting out against case.
