Is this a BIOS conflict or cable problem

I am unable to burn on my CDRW and have tried various avenues to fix it. (previously posted in software). I have updated the firmware, the software and even spoke to Nero themselves, with no luck.

The software is Nero 5.10.56 with an upgrade on the firmware.

But I have noticed something odd just now, and am wondering if this is my problem.

When my computer boots up, the primary slave is the CD-ROM and the secondary slave is the CD-ROM.

Does this mean my BIOS is not recognizing the CD-RW, or could it be the cable inside has come loose?

    What do you guys think???

Check the cables, then check the BIOS snd see what it says.
