is this burner worth the money?

i am replacing my 3year old dead lite-on 52X cd-burner with this lite-on dvd-burner. you think i will get the same life span out of it like i did with the cd-burner? is it worth the money? this is the first burner i bought in 3 years so i never had a dvd-burner so i dont know

I just bought that drive 2 months ago. Working great for me. I've only burnt about 50 disks but no fails with Nero Express writing software (incl'd but I already had it). About 15 minutes to burn a DVD R including data verification. I cleaned up my HD and am confident any disk burnt with Nero can be read on other machines. Haven't tried the lightscribe (takes something like 50 minutes) but it only costs a few dollars more than the one w/o lightscribe so I got it just in case.

Don't know how long it will last but I'm very happy so far. Newegg has good prices so you're not overpaying.

i already know that lite-on's are good because of my last burner and it cost me $80 3 years ago. so with this ones price i did not know.

 

dude dont buy that get the 18x theyre saling it for 30 from lite on

 

aight dude this is one of the best makers of the dvd roms its a samsung for 32 bucks dude dont be fool and pay 30 for a 16x where u can get a 18x

i'm quite fine with the lite-on because i dont want OEM i want a new burner and i dont think i will ever use 18X disks lol

 

I've got a Lite-On also. never had a bad burn yet except if I screw it up. Geez $35, When I bought my DVD burner a couple of years ago, it was about$100.
