Issues with Perl modules

    I am having an issue installing various perl modules on my Ubuntu server. I keep getting
    Code:
    Running make test
Can't test without successful make
Running make install
make had returned bad status, install seems impossible
    if the perl module didn't come from Synaptic itself. CPAN can't install anything at all. Needless to say this is very annoying.

    Has anyone had this issue?

    never mind, it seems that I didn't have make installed at all

    I guess I was right, installing make and build-essentials didn't help at all
