Trying to speed up my HP8100y, I have been following Black Viper advise, but somewhere I must have done a mistake, so now my windows media center, does not appears in my Start/All Programs menu, neither I find it anywhere.

Also, but this isn't my fault, my documents do not go through the printer spooler, and right this moment I have a small rectangular blue sign going up and down my screen saying:-Out of Range-.

    Appreciate any help.

You tweaked a display setting to use something either your video card/chip or your monitor can handle. Boot into safe mode and change the display settings down a few notches. make sure you have checked/ticked do not display settings that are out of range.

Thank You Plodr. Message is gone!!

Attention Bugballou: I went to BlackViper site, followed instructions and put back everithing as MCE 2005, restarted, but no trace od Media Center on my start/allprograms menu; as reading on blackviper I've found the location where Media is located (Windows/ehome) I clicked on some .exe and got the message: "Windows cannot open this program because it has been preventer by a software restrictioon policy. For more information contact your system administrator.

    Does this info help?

    Thank You.

:)I have to fix this someday, so I'll ask this here. Like everyone else in this post, I've been foolimg with XP Pro's "SERVICES.MSC". Each and every one of em!! So far I have it runnung with these settings (except the ones that have RUN A PROGRAM" on the 2nd or 3rd lines". Here is my settings in case you may want to try them because you system will be a tad bit more stable. BUT IF ANYONE OF YOU HAVE MICROSOFT'S DEFAULT SETINGS, PLEASE let mr know! Thanx.

    Line 1: Restart the program
Line 2: Take no Action* *
