    Hi...

I launched Firefox as usual and went to one of my start pages and clicked on a link for google.com - and was presented with the following message:

"Sorry... but we can't process your request right now. A computer virus or spyware application is sending us automated requests, and it appears that your computer or network has been infected.
We'll restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again soon. In the meantime, you might want to run a virus checker or spyware remover to make sure that your computer is free of viruses and other spurious software.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope we'll see you again on Google."

    End...

Basically it was inviting me to enter a security code into one of those boxes, but I knew this was a scam. For one thing, the Google logo presented was a ver bad resemblance.
So, I then ran my anti spyware program Spyware Nuker by Trek Blue, which I've used for years and have never had any problems with, and it detected a cookie called 'DoubleClick'. But Spyware Nuker couldn't remove it as I hadn't downloaded the latest update.
So I then downloaded an update and ran it. This time nothing was found, including DoubleClick.
I then went to Search and typed in DoubleClick, which was found (I'm sure this is preventing me access to google.com (but not to co.uk however).
Basically Windows will not let me delete/remove it - keeps giving me an eror message.
How do I get rid of what ever is doing this?

Spyware Nuker had been on the rogue removal tool list for awhile. If you have the newest versions it is improved but still not very good. If you do not have the new version, it should not be used at all. What version do you have?

You could have a SpyAxe/Smitfraud related problem. The doubleclick cookie is not a big deal and is not the reason for getting the warning about spyware.
