Just Re-Formatted Video Card issues

OK, I recently reformatted and installed everything I need and have all the updates for windows and such. Everything is fine except my vid card. I have an ATI x800 PRO and I've installed video drivers at least 5 times with the same problem. Running in desktop mode is fine, but as soon as I try to play a game or something the screen will go black like it does to change resolutions and I'll hear a lot of error noises then it'll go back into desktop in a huge resolution. I've tried the Cat 4.12 and the Cat 5.1's. They worked before the format, I don't know what I'm missing.

 

Are all your other drivers installed?

 

Which drivers are you referring to?

 

Right now I have no display driver installed, I ran the ati uninstaller utility so I'm at a clean slate.

 

You do have DirectX 9b, right?

Are your chipset drivers installed correctly?

 

Isn't 9b old skool
