Keep getting Windows Office XP install message popping up.

Everytime I try to use IE or any other Office appl a window keeps popping up asking for the Office XP CD. I tried putting the CD in but that doesn't seem to work. Could this be due to a virus or malware?
Any help is appreciated.

It promps me to delete files. Isn't that a bad thing?

 

Normally I would agree with you about removing files, but that is what this fix does. This is a MicroSoft fix for damaged/malfunctioning installer issues. Please reread the article carefully, note what it says to do, and note that it is provided as is by MicroSoft. Another option would be to uninstall Office, run a registery cleaner, and reinstall it.

I understand your apprehension, so wait as others may have some different or better advice.
