I have just taken possesion of a new to me computer. For some strange reason the @ key comes up with " and the " key produces the @ symbol. I tried a different keyboard and had the same response ?
    Anyone got any ideas ?
    Thanks in anticipation

My first guess is a changed font file. Try typing in a different font and see if the keys are still switched.

Did you receive the computer as is or new from a store. If you got it from someone it looks as they've re-mapped those 2 keys. If so, there may be a program installed that re-mapped them. Or you need to get a program that does that. Are there any other keys that are typing something else? Is this keyboard setup for the english language or different keyboard? Food for thought.

    Problem solved !!
Stumbled upon it by accident. Settings, Keyboard.....found that it was configured for English (US). Should have been set on English (British).
Thanks to all you helpful and knowledegable people out there for your help.
    Regards
