Kids and their PC

Question.

Is it somehow possible to be able to view my kid’s comp screen on my PC.
I mean, can I in real time see what my 10yr old is doing on her PC?

how far are the computers apart? are the computers close enough to have a cable to run between them? or are you looking for something wireless? what kind of monitor do they both use (is it a vga cable)?

maybe you could use a splitter (for the video out on their comp), and use a kvm switch (for your comp)?

basically, a kvm switch allows you to use 1 keyboard, 1 mouse, 1 monitor with 2 or more comps (depends on kvm switch). you just use the switch to toggle between the 2 comps. in your case you only want the video part. this is the only way i can think of, but i'm sure others will reply. g/l, sos

edit - i'm only posting the links for reference only, you might be able to find cheaper items (i know you can find the kvm switch cheaper than that link - like mabye tigerdirect.com, etc).

i've also attatched a pic below of my switch mounted on the side of my comp desk. i used 2 little screw in hooks to hold the wires on the side.

VNC & just use the viewer only mode.. so you don't move the mouse and alert them your on & watching. I did this for my girlfriend and watched her boy. Pretty funny when I called her and said "Where the boy?.. in bed... think again" so she went out the the livingroom and caught him on the computer.
"In View-only mode, no mouse or keyboard events will be sent back to the server. This is useful for teaching sessions or other situations where you want to observe but don't want to interfere."
look in MG downloads or google UltraVNC or TightVNC.

Install the server on her PC & run the viewer on yours.
If your worried about the icon in the system tray download resourcehacker and remove the icons from the server exe.
