kopete in mandriva

hi all,

i am running mandriva 2008 (dual boot with w2k) and have kopete for using msn messenger, the problem is i can't view a webcam or send my webcam,
i can view my own video through the configuration manager but no-one else's,

if i boot into windows then i can view and send

any ideas ?

searched and searched for an answer for this, couldn't find one,

so i've tried kmess, kmerlin and now i'm upto amsn,

kmess and kmerlin will allow me to i/m without a webcam (same as kopete)

amsn won't even connect, it says i am firewalled or behind a router, even when i configure both,

any ideas why my webcam won't work (again)
