Laptop's integral SD Card reader's stopped working??

Hi Guys

None of my camera's SD Card's work in my laptop, I have an integral slot. I have tried 3 different cards. The laptop is not recognising the SD Card at all ie no drive appears in 'my computer'. It was working fine and then stopped.

They appear to work in the camera fine.

What should be my 1st step to try and rectify this?

First step is to post the make and model of laptop. Hardware, like an sd cardreader needs drivers. We need to know what drivers to look for.

 

Hi,

First action in a case like this is to reboot. If no help then uninstall the device from Device Manage and reboot. Windows has a copy of all drivers for devices that are loaded and usually will reload it and get you going again. No Help, then get busy and try to fix it.

Conundrum

Hi Guys

Here's where I am at.

When I restart my computer I can see / read my SD card. When I take the SD card out and put it straight back in, it does not read.

To read I have to re-start my computer again. It is the same for all my cards.

Any advice?????

Altec Lansing SRS is audio in an ASUS model computer.

32 bit Vista scroll down to card reader driver and reinstall it

Since the link is the same, it appears the same driver is used no matter which version of Vista you are running.
