Latest Flash Player 11 won't Install

Hello! The latest Flash Player 11 won't install in my laptop. It keeps on saying I don't have enough permission even though I'm already using an administrator account. Please help!

 

It is also possible that some Flash Player components cannot be removed due to permission problems.

Follow the clean install instructions here http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315 then reinstall.

 

DavidGP: do you know why MG only lists the Flash Player ActiveX for Internet Explorer, but not the Flash Player plugin for other browsers like Firefox?

 

@pwillener: I'm not DavidGP but Flash Player for Firefox etc. is located under *Browsers* http://www.majorgeeks.com/Adobe_Flash_Player_for_Firefox_Mozilla_Netscape_Opera_d7806.html

@DavidGP I have Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2.

Results:
What I did is I followed @pwillener advise to uninstall the previous Flash Player. I downloaded both the IE version and other browser version of the latest Flash Player. I was able to download this file: install_flash_player_11_active_x.msi BUT cannot download this one: install_flash_player_11_plugin.msi. I've attached the screenshot of the error.




By the way, I forgot which is which for IE and for other browser.
What to do?

 

Not sure why yours ends in msi. I always download an exe file

Is your problem that you can't download or you can't install?

Can you try to download and run the Flash Player uninstaller from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

Next try if the MSI installers work better

Tried uninstalling it. It still won't work. It says I don't have enough permission to install it.

 

You must either be logged in as an Administrator user, or right-click on the downloaded installer and select Run as Administrator.

If you still have the same problem when doing that, can you post the FlashInstall.log file in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash as an attachment?

 

Tried installing it as an Administrator. Here's the copy of the FlashInstall.log. Hope you can help me! :cry

Okay, just to be sure, can you do the following:
Click start, then type in cmd (press enter)
net user %username% > blah.txt (press enter)
notepad blah.txt (press enter)
post it here.

also, you could try ninite.com
check the addons you wnat, and click download.

 

Thank you for the FlashInstall.log file. But this is very weird: the last entry in that log is from 2011.

This means that neither the uninstaller nor the installer did anything.

Please provide the info that thefool has requested.

Despite having the OK status, I still got this in my browser.

 

Run this: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Adobe_Flash_Player_Uninstaller_d6551.html but, right click and select "Run as Administrator"

Then re-install latest version of flash, but using the right click, "run as administrator".

What is your UAC (user account control) set as, btw? I typically set my as default.

What do you mean by UAC? I set mine as an Administrator.

 

Follow this to uninstall any installed flash and partial or corrupted installs of flash.

I see a window in the background of your error. You should not have any other windows and particularly a browser open when you are installing flash.

 

After following carefully the instructions, here's the status of my flash in Firefox.

 

After deleting all Flash folders and files and deleting most of my adobe software, I successfully installed Flash Player.
