   Does this update driver safely replace my current Intel driver version 6.14.10.4020? My device is the Intel 82865G Graphics Controller. Running XPSP2. I want the update if its compatible.

   As you have an Intel 865G chipset I would say yes, but like always.. backup important stuff first.
   
   and as reassurance this chart from Intel ( see top build number 4396 then cross match with your chipset 82865 ) http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-009479.htm#865 bears out a YES
