    Howdy,

I picked up my first lcd today, and was just wanting to know how best to maintain it. I especially would like to know how to best keep the backlight in good order. Do any of you put the screen into standby mode when not in use (ie backlight off), or just leave it on all day and turn it off at night?

First off congrats on the new toy :)

I turn my LCD off if not using it for any log periods of time, but do have it set for a 10min standby, which turns the backlight off ( dont set a screensaver tho).

    others are...

Dont keep moving it around, they can take some stick, but too much moving about may cause failures.

To keep the screen clean, I tend to use and have done for many years... spectacle/lens cleaning fluid and the lens cloth, dont use and normal glass cleaner.

If the room is too cold you can see anomalious pixels until the ambient temp warms up and they become normal again, LCDs not fans of cold.
