a question concerning "Adaptec cd recording plug in"

When I try to burn a cd from the the media player, I get this msg,

"No recording device found on your system"

Behind that little note ia a larger box and at the top it has this:

"ADAPTEC CD RECORDING PLUG IN"

I am a more than a novice on this. I would gander that I would need to install this and that it maybe a software d/l.

My son has installed a sony cd-writer and nero express but has not had time to work with me.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Just to double check and verify that your CD drive is recognized and set up to burn, do the following:

Open My Computer.
In the Devices with Removable Storage area, right-click the drive, and then click Properties. If your CD drive is recognized, you will see a Recording tab.
Select the Enable CD recording on this drive check box.

when you open My Computer you should see your CD drives... right click the CDRW > properties > then you should see a Recording Tab > click that and check to see if the Enable CD recording from this drive is checked.

Personally I do prefer to use Nero over XPs built in CD writing as its has more copying options.
