Libre Office - Java wont install

Hi, i have installed Libre Office 4.1 but when i try and and use the Database Application it says i need Java.

When i try and install Java i get this error message:

"The wizard was interrupted before Java 7 Update 51 update could be completely installed".

    I am running Windows 7 64 Ultimate.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks :)

Try and install it manually here http://java.com to see if it works. save the file to disk first and then install it sometimes works better then just clicking on run.

I believe you must close your browser before you try to install Java.

    Check for malware.
Have a look through windows event viewer for logs pertaining to the Java install.

Do you currently *have* any Java installed? Might want to check with Revo to get rid of any leftover files.
Try installing Java to a different directory
Try installing Java under a new user profile
Try installing a different version of Java such as Java 7 and manually patching it up to date.

Note, I have noticed with some programs the latest Java version will not be "detected" and still prompt you to install Java each time. The only fix I was able to make work was rolling back the Java to Java 7
Also, I have had a few times using the MS Fix It tool from Microsoft Support that was able to fix it a couple times. Not sure how reliable it is, but I have used it as last resorts heh

    Hope this helps

The current version of Java is version 7. :confused

    Run JavRA http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/javara.html
it will remove any partial/failed installs which might be preventing you from installing Java.
I don't recommend using JavaRA to install Java. It does not always install the latest version.

Negative. Current version is Java 7 Update 51.

    So, try installing Java 7
Normally not recommended, but useful for de-bugging purposes to try a lower version and applying the update rather than a full install of the Java 7 Update 51

Please don't post version 7 if you meant version 7, update 7.

I didn't understand and perhaps the OP having trouble installing v7 u51 did not understand what you meant.

Also can you post a download link for the OP? Oracle only show v7 u51 for download.

I posted Java 7, meaning the base version of Java 7 Release Date: July 28, 2011(Java 7). Not Java 7 Update 7 Release Date: August 30, 2012(Java 7.7).

Here is a link to access archived Java installation files.

Here are links specifically for Java 7:

No Java shows up in Control Panel or in the Control Panel of Advanced Uninstaller Pro.

But it does seem to do a partial install since i have a C:\Program Files (x86)\Java.

I am going to try again with the Java tool plodr mentioned.

Make sure you are trying to install a 32 bit version of Java. I know your Win 7 is 64 bit but I found this thread
    http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/17202/l0-40-and-java-jre-7-big-problem/
If you are using a 64 bit browser to access Oracle's site, they might be offering you the wrong Java and that's why Libre Office complains

I wonder if your antivirus software is preventing the successful installation of Java.
