Like new chip, but...

    What will happen if I use a 3.6 Ghz Pentium chip in a 478 pin socket on a motherboard that isn't specifically designed for the new chip? I suppose it won't work.

    what chip might this be? I havent been able to find a 478 above 3.2.

    The socket is 775. It might not be 478 pins.

    nah, u can only use 478 in a 478 mobo and 775 in a 775 mobo.
