Links In Thunderbird EMails Are No Longer Opening In Firefox.

In recent days Thunderbird email links are no longer opening in Firefox which is the default browser.
Has worked without problem for years.
Not working in safe mode either.
Tried making another browser the default but that still didn't work.
It is still possible to send links from Firefox to Thunderbird.
Deleted a number of batch mails last week and problem is only happening since then, but I can't see how that would cause problems.

 

Try Seamonkey, portable. It includes T-bird. Since it is portable, it shouldn't impact your installed version of T-bird.

If it doesn't work, simply delete/erase the Seamonkey folder.

If it does work, you might want to consider installing Seamonkey to replace FF and T-bird which are currently installed.

I am not an advanced user so I would be nervous about installing Seamonkey.
Am very happy with Firefox and Thunderbird.
The present problem has come out of nowhere and I am hoping that it can be sorted without installing any new and unfamiliar programmes.
