looking for help- Casino games not requiring internet

    hello everyone,
    My dad is a seinor citizen, he was bored, so i gave him a old laptop I had.
    its running windows 7,all he has is dial up internet.

    he would like casino games(poker,blackjack,slots etc), I tried putting a couple
    of different programs on there for him,they all seems to want to connect to the internet. With his dial up, this is a real problem.
    so, i need one that runs offline.
    any thoughts?

    I don't play casino games, but most online sites now run games with flash, which is probably a problem when it comes to dial up.

    If you try to download free casino software, I'd be very careful as far as malware is concerned. As I don't know what you already tried to put on for him, I can't speak to why it would be trying to access the internet if it is installed on his computer.

    I would say your best bet is going to be software that is installed like: http://www.amazon.com/Hoyle-Card-Casino-Games-2013/dp/B00919RM1Q It's not free, but it's pretty inexpensive and is compatible with Windows 7.

    If he does want to play online and his dial up can handle it, Pogo.com is a good site just to have fun on. You don't download anything for it.

    i went to amazon and looked up the hoyle casino card games 2013 and in the system requirements it said:" 56.6 Kbps modem or faster and internet service provider account required for internet access. Broadband internet service recommended."

    do you have to be online to play this game?

    I can't tell what you need access for, but I'd go by the minimum specs.

    I did a quick look for other games and didn't come up with anything. Maybe someone else will have some advice.

    (I'm going to move this to software and change the title a little bit for clarity)
