Looking For Video Editing Software

I have been researching different video editing software, and was wondering if anyone on here has one that they recommend. I would like to have one that would be good for something as simple as editing home movies and copying them to DVD and as complex as making decent short movies. I would like one with chroma key options as well as picture-in-picture and layering. I don't want to spend more than $200 though. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the links! They were very helpful. After doing some reading, I have narrowed it down to either Ulead Video Studio or Pinnacle Studio. Anyone have any pros and cons for either of these programs?

Try the free trials and see if these are worth your while. I've been particular with these myself.
