Lose comments when copying files to USB drive

I like to add comments to the files I download into my c:\downloads folder.
But when I try and copy the downloaded file onto my USB 512mb drive, XP advises me that the comments will not be copied and wipes them.

Has anyone a solution other than retyping them in the USB drive?
I guess the answer is no, but there is always hope. Bazza

windows is bad about that, get you a burning program like nero, sonic, just about any aftermarket burning program and it will burn it all.

 

First that I've heard about burning to a USB thumb drive!

 

You might try Xplorer2 Lite: http://www.download.com/Xplorer2-lite/3000-2248_4-10407731.html I use it quite a bit. You can set comments and bundle the file to go under the Actions menu, then copy or move the bundle under the Edit menu, then unpack the moved or copied bundle. It has a limited help file though, if you should need a complete manual you would have to go to http://www.zabkat.com/ It's a 3.3MB PDF.

I bet your hd is in ntfs format, and your jump drive probably fat or fat32, which im 90% postive doesn't support the comments feature, but i could be wrong.

Back to typing them in again I guess.
