Lost encryption key is there any hope.

I encrypted some files useing XP 64 Pro. I didnt think about it at the time but i formated the drive installed xp32 and of course now i cant recover the encrypted files. I tried reinstalling the xp64 and recovering them but of course ive lost the encryption key file. is there any way at all to recover these files?

Try using EFS (Encryption File System) and FEK (File Encryption Key) as search terms and you might find some useful info. Unfortunately, I do think you're dead in the water, but it's worth a try....
