MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION (in blue screen error)

I've been getting this error after around 3 months of having my custom built computer... I get it when I play just about any game after random amounts of time from 10 mins -2 hours.

I've tried updating drivers, searching this forum for answers, and there were many similar errors but those were based on something else... so someone can help me out, that'd be great.

(btw my computer is burning hot..... and I have a generic cooling system composed of couple of fans...but then it talked about recently installed drivers so I'm not sure...)

WIN XP PRO


this is kinda like what the error screen said:

If this is the first time you have seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

blah blah blah... (it didn't seem very important, just things like safe mode, update drivers.)
