Mail Notification Sound OE 6

    I just bought a new computer. In setting up my new OE I can't get it to make a sound when new mail arrives. I have checked the box to play sound when new mail arrives. I have changed the sound in settings;sounds;mail notifications. Anyone have any ideas? All other sounds work fine.
