hello Majorgeeks :) I've been using this site for a while, but I'm new to the forum, and I come for advice.

    My problem:

Shortly after getting home from work I booted my computer. Or tried to. It came no longer than to the boot screen, where it stalled. Neither keyboard nor mouse functioning.

    My setup:

    PSU - 1 week old Chieftec 850 watt 14C
    Mobo - 1 month old Biostar T-Power I45
    CPU - ~1 year old Intel Q6600 G0 2,4GHz @ 3,0GHz (been overclocked since I got the mobo)
    GPU - Inno3D Nvidia GeForce 8600GT 512Mb
    RAM - ~1 year old 2x Swissbit 1Gb PC5300 + 2x Swissbit 512Mb PC5300
    HDD - ~1 year old Seagate 500Gb, 7200rpm, 8Mb Cache
Cooling - TRUE Black, Standard alu on gpu, 2 fans on gfx, 1 fan on TRUE, 1 fan on northbridge, 3 fans in case (front, rear and side).
    Keyboard - Merc Stealth
    Mouse - Razer DeathAdder
Monitors - Acer AL1715 and Samsung SyncMaster 206BW

    Notes:

CPU, RAM, HDD and GPu all came with a premade Medion computer.

    Solutions tested:

I tried unplugging all PSU cables. I've had this problem before, which is why I bought a new PSU, and the problem disappeared. But after a week it has started again. Obviously not a PSU problem.

I tested all the RAM individualy and the PC is able to boot with all but 1 of them, so I guess I have some dead RAM. After testing them individualy I tried booting with all the functioning RAM but with no result. I never get any further than the bootscreen.

    (shit quality, I know)

Since the keyboard and mouse aren't working when I boot, I tried switching them to some other USB ports, but no results.

I tried unpluging and testing both my monitors, still with no result.

    Unplugging fans changed nothing

    Possible problem:

Though I doubt it's the source of the problem, I thought I'd mention it anyway. When I attached the TRUE, I used too much paste and I think some of it has contact with the side of the CPU, and maybe lower.

    Notes:

Everything looks as if it starts correctly when I boot. All fans start, the display on the monitor looks normal, all lights are on.

All the lights are on, including 1 I dont know what means.

It's a red LED next to the ram and under the bios, named LED3. The manual that followed with the motherboard doesn't mention any LED's.

I've also checked all components and I can't find anything that reminds of a burn or any other fault.

I also clean my PC for dust on a weekly basis, so I heat shouldn't be a problem.

I just reset the bios through a jumper when I got home. Everything works fine now, Ill just skip the overclocking until I get my new ram :p
