You will need an RJ-45 port available on the printer. Either that, or a USB connection to your router. Either way, you must have it connected to a router.

Actually you don't necessarily need a print server anymore. You can directly connect a printer to many modern routers via Cat5 or USB. If the router does not do it automatically, you may need to turn the print server on in the router settings.

What is the make/model of the router in question?

I want to put the Printer in another room so i dont think a long USB cable would be practical.

My Router is a Netgear N300 and the Printer is a Kodak ESP 3250 MFD.

    Thanks :)

Nice router, that's the same one I've got! :)

Unfortunately, to make your printer wireless, you'll need to connect it directly to your router, either via USB or RJ45 / CAT5. This means, you may need to purchase a separate router for your printer and set it up as a client to your main router.

To test if this will work, you can connect the printer to the USB port on the current router and see if your PC can see it and print properly.

An access point which can be configured as a print server would do the job. This could easily be done with a router that has print server capability and can be configured as an AP.

Is the room you want to put the printer in also the room where your router is located? Do you have documentation for your printer? Is it designed to be network-ready/network-capable?

No, the PC and Router are the room next door.

Good point about the Printer documents i will look them out and report back.
