I was planning on buying an nvidia gtx 260 but heard thats its pretty big. After taking some measurements it seems my HD cage will block the card. So I was thinking I might just remove the cage and let my HD sit at the bottom of the case. Could that cause any damage to the HD at all?

It shouldn't just put something under it to allow air to circulate, anything that is about an inch high, 2 along either side.
